About four months ago, we received a call after-hours from a concerned member.  The member stated that he thought he was experiencing low voltage at his house.  He had already shut down his main breaker box, which was a wise decision on his part.  We dispatched a lineman and notified the DS&O answering service that there was a problem in the area.  If additional calls came in about low voltage, then the answering service was advised to tell members to shut things down.

Every few months, DS&O receives a call from a member telling us that someone is posing as a DS&O employee demanding payment of the member’s electric bill.  These scammers work year-round, but they are most active in the winter and summer months, when people can’t go without heat or air conditioning.

Nearly 380 attended DS&O’s 80th annual meeting, which was held on April 3rd at the Webster Conference Center on the north side of Salina.  KEC’s CEO, Bruce Graham, KEPCo’s Director of Member Services, Phil Wages, and KEPCo’s Director of Rates and Regulation, Mark Dolijac were also in attendance.  DS&O’s Communications Manager Derrick Rutherford again served as master of ceremony for the night.
