POWER RESTORED TO ALL MEMBERS

Solomon, Kan., Aug. 12, 2009 – As of 6:10 PM today DS&O crews have restored power to all DS&O members.

The storm that came through on Monday left over 2400 DS&O members without power. Crews worked around the clock and were able to restore power to all but approximately 450 members as of Tuesday night, with the area south and southwest of Junction City making up most of these outages.

Westar had several miles of transmission line on the ground which crossed over the DS&O lines in several places. Several crews working extremely hard have been able to replace poles and get the lines back in the air; because of this effort power was restored to all DS&O members late Wednesday.

Keep in mind if the meter box on a home or building is pulled away from the house, it will need to be repaired by a licensed electrician before power can be restored. This repair is the responsibility of the home or building owner.

DS&O encourages members to keep safety in mind while outdoors. In addition to reporting and avoiding downed power lines, people should also be aware of low power line or one sagging dangerously low, they should report it to DS&O by calling 1-800-376-3533.

The DS&O staff and lineman would like to THANK its members for their patience and support while they worked to get power restored.
